In view of the character of the site geology and environment condition in Shaliaokou Pumping Station, steel sheet piles were used in the foundation excavation project. Based on analysis of safety and cost, It comes to the conclusion that steel sheet pile can be suit for cut-off wall in silty sand ground. This paper may present as a reference in other engineering designs as well.
