Abstract

In a basin,there is a strong interaction between surface-water( SW) and groundwater( GW) regimes,especially in the valley region. Doing research on the SW and GW separately usually ignores the link between surface water and groundwater. In order to overcome this shortcoming,a hypothetical case is suggested in this paper. To establish a SW/GW model,the dual-node approach is used to couple the flow model of SW and GW. On this basis,the coupling transport model is built by Fick Law. The coupled simulation model will be solved via HydroGeoSphere to forecast the distribution of flow and total nitrogen in 120 days. The simulation results show that the GW is recharged by the SW,because surface flux will decrease when the GW is pumped. With the over-withdrawing of underground water,groundwater pollution is becoming more serious.
