In order to improve the accuracy of the measurement of canal water level in the irrigation district,this paper designs a kind of water
level meter based on the magnetostrictive effect. According to the water level of the canal measurement requirements,this paper carries out
the optimization design of the hardware circuit of the following: NE555 integrated chip is used to generate excitation pulse signals,treatment
of weak echo signal by using simple passive filter,high precision instrumentation amplifier AD620,integrate active filter LTC1562-2 and
voltage comparator LM397. There is a 16 bit ultra- low power microcontroller ( MSP430F169) design of timing and data processing circuit.
The water level meter designed in this paper has the characteristics of high precision,corrosion resistance,convenient installation,stable and
reliable work.
